Midwest Landback Reparations, Ho-Chunk History, and Saturday's Wild Church
Bill Quackenbush, the Official Online Launch of "Honor Native Land Fund" and Lenten Lands Continues...
Amazing opportunity to learn some deep history of this region tomorrow at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
Lenten Lands: Wild Church: Lock & Dam #11
Saturday, March 2nd, 3pm
3094 Volunteer Dr #3052, Dubuque, IA 52001; Google Maps will take you there, you can take either Rhomberg, Lincoln, or Kerper to Volunteer Dr, and follow Volunteer all the way north. We will meet at the farthest north parking lot (as far as you can go before hitting security fences). There is seating available for those without camping chairs, and there are public bathrooms on-site.
We are living in a time when we are in desperate need of repairing our relationship to the Living World. This Lent we’re going to embrace repair by seeking the beautiful and blighted: to find the sacred in all lands. These inclusive gatherings, no matter your faith background, are open to anyone and are situated within the “lengthening of days” (literally, Lent) as a time for community, prayer, song, and a meditation on our place within the community of Creation. RSVP is always appreciated.
I’ve been working with a group of non-Native folks in this region for the past few years and we are thrilled to announce this online public launch of Honor Native Land Fund with our Indigenous partners, Sikowis Nobiss, Shelley Buffalo, and the Great Plains Action Society. Here’s an opportunity to learn about embracing repair through the small act of supporting land rematriation led by Indigenous stewards. www.honornativelandfund.org
